Helplines
The UK Government has set up a number of helplines to support individuals in need of urgent assistance who are still in Afghanistan.
Vulnerable non-British nationals in need of assistance
If you are a non-British national in Afghanistan, or are the family member of a non-British national in Afghanistan, and in need of assistance, call +44 2475 389 980 (or 02475 389 980 in the UK).
British nationals in Afghanistan
If you are a British national and you are still in Afghanistan, you are strongly encouraged to register your presence to receive important updates. If you need to speak to a consular officer, call the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) on +44 1908 516 666 (or 01908 516 666 in the UK).
More information is available on the Gov.UK Website: Support for British and non-British nationals in Afghanistan – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Family Tracing
If you have lost contact with a loved one and have been unsuccessful in contacting them through the normal means of communication because of the recent events in Afghanistan, the British Red Cross International Family Tracing (IFT) service may be able to help.
If the enquirer is based in the West Midlands area, they can contact their local IFT Team on IFTBirmingham@redcross.org.uk.
If the enquirer is based outside the West Midlands area, they can find their local IFT office by visiting our IFT page here and entering their postcode.
